Bring Full Site Plan Capability to Your Compact Machines
Designed to adapt to the way you work, this solution supports a wide range of site measurement applications across different environments and setups. Whether mounted on a pole, vehicle, or ATV, it enables accurate data capture for grade checking, site supervision, and ongoing project monitoring. Beyond its physical flexibility, it integrates advanced GNSS capabilities to ensure consistent, high-quality positioning. With support for multiple constellations and access to precise correction services, it delivers dependable performance for capturing detailed site information, from basic features to complex datasets with imagery and volume calculations.
Precise Screed Control Based on a Full 3D Design Model
The Trimble GCS900 3D Grade Control System can be installed on compact machines to put the site plan – design surfaces, grades and alignments – inside the cab.
Grading
-
Measure the position and blade slope with the single GNSS antenna configuration
-
Measure the exact position, very accurate cross slope and the heading of the blade with dual GNSS
Finished Grade
-
Achieve finished grade to millimetre accuracy with fewer passes
-
Place finished grade materials more accurately and in a shorter time period, keeping material costs to a minimum and realizing better profits
Accurate, Cost-Effective 2D Grade Control for Compact Machines
The GCS900 2D Grade Control System provides compact machine operators with reliable in-cab elevation and slope guidance using laser-based references. For grading applications, a single laser and receiver setup measures blade lift and tilt, with the option to add a slope sensor or second receiver for more detailed blade slope measurement. When working to finished grade, the system supports tight tolerance work through precise vertical guidance, dual angle sensors and compatibility with sonic tracers for stringline, previous pass or curb and gutter referencing. The 2D system also serves as a practical entry point, with a clear upgrade path to full 3D grade control as project demands evolve.
Grading
-
Measure the lift and tilt of the blade with a single laser and laser receiver
-
Measure the slope of the blade by adding another laser receiver or a slope sensor
-
Get to grade more accurately and quickly with in-cab elevation and slope guidance
-
Upgrade to a 3D grade control system as your organization grows
Finished Grade
-
Achieve tight tolerances and a smooth finished grade with precise vertical guidance.
-
Calculate the cross-slope of the blade using two angle sensors and a rotation sensor
-
Add a laser receiver or a sonic tracer to measure elevation
-
Trace stringline, previous pass, or curb and gutter with a sonic tracer
Proven Laser Grade Control That Works as Hard as Your Machines
Compact machines are the workhorses of many construction sites. As you find more uses for them, Trimble continues to refine our offerings into systems that work just as hard as you do, with a price to fit your budget.
Here are just some of the benefits you will gain by using our compact machine solutions on your skid steers, backhoe loaders and mini-excavators:
Increased Productivity
Now you can use your compact machines for more specialised and finished grade applications.
Reduced Rework
When you move the material correctly the first time, there’s no need to spend time doing rework
Reduced Labour Downtime
-
You don’t need to wait for grade checks because you can immediately see when you’re on grade
-
There’s no need to get out of the machine to check grade yourself
